Anne Klymenko (Fiorenza) is the Director of Research Services at Lakehead University and has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration (Hons) from Lakehead University (1989).   Prior to her role as Director, Anne was Manager of Research and International Development at Lakehead University and Chaired Lakehead’s first International Activities Committee.  She was instrumental in facilitating three successful international development proposals submitted by Lakehead University’s Faculty of Forestry with partners in Ghana and Nepal to the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), resulting in grants totalling $4.3 million.  She also helped design a $1M CIDA graduate scholarship program.

As a strategic fundraiser and senior administrator at Lakehead University since 1989, Anne has played a key role in supporting the growth of Lakehead’s research capacity, resulting in the University being named #1 Research University in Canada in the Undergraduate category by Research InfoSource in 2015 and 2016.   Her professional interests include strategic planning, research ethics, internationalization and leadership studies.  In her current role as Director of Research Services, she is also responsible for seeking opportunities to expand Lakehead’s international research collaborations and exchange programs for graduate students.

Born in the Bahamas with an Italian heritage, Anne immigrated to Canada in 1973, after living in northern Italy for a short period of time.  She enjoys travelling and spending time with her family at their summer cottage.
